Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor‟s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate, (including all subjects studied at Bachelor’s level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet.) with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either Intermediate or +2 (10+2) or equivalent examination, or, Bachelor‟s level (as a main or a subsidiary subject). 

Note*: The MCA course at Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, Mirzapur (RGSC) is under Paid Seat Fee Structure with the fee structure of Rs.60000/- per semester + regular fees of the MCA course prescribed by the University. Maximum number of seats is 20. The candidates desirousto take admission at RGSC, Barkachha, Mirzapur will be required to give their option/preference of location at the time of counseling and the admissions will be made as per merit and the choice of the candidate. Further if the number of candidates opting for MCA is less than the minimum number of seats in the course, then the course may not run in that academic session

There shall be one paper of 120 minutes duration carrying 360 marks containing 120 multiple-choice questions on
Mathematical Aptitude (about 80 questions), 
Analytical and Logical Reasoning (about 40 questions). 

Mathematical Aptitude Test Areas (+2 Level): Logarithms, Inequalities, Matrices and Determinants, Progressions, Binomial Expansion, Permutation and Combination, Equations (upto degree 2), Function and Relation, Complex Arithmetic, 2- D Coordinate Geometry, Basics of Calculus, Basic Concepts of Probability.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Questions will be mainly for checking logical conclusion, graphical/data interpretation, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Requirements for applying for MCA Programmes other than lateral entry :

• Any Science graduate with Mathematics as one of the subjects or graduate in Electronics / Information Technology/Computer Science / Computer Applications/ Engineering Technology with aggregate 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.
• SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

Minimum Requirements for applying for MCA lateral entry Programmes :

• Recognized regular Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Computer Science and Engineering of minimum three year duration with aggregate 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. 
• Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.

Exam Pattern for CUSAT MCA 2019

Compulsory Test to be taken under CAT 2019 for admission to MCA / Lateral Entry Programmes:

Test for MCA: The test comprises of 150 objective type questions designed to test the aptitude and capability of an applicant for doing the M.C.A programme. About 50% of the questions will be from Mathematics covering areas of Engineering Mathematics/B.Sc. subsidiary level Mathematics while the remaining questions will be to test the ability of the candidate in logical reasoning based on pictures, geometrical figures, patterns of words, Number Sequence, Set Theory, Logic decoding etc. For each right answer 3 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted. Rank list will be prepared on the basis of the score in the Test.

MCA Lateral Entry Programmes:

CommonTest for MSc (Computer Science) and Lateral Entry to III Semester MCA (MLET): The aptitude test 502 comprises of 150 objective type questions designed to test the aptitude and capability of an applicant for pursuing the MCA (Lateral Entry)/MSc Computer Science Programme. 100 questions will be from Computer Science and Applications covering areas such as C, C++, Data Base Management Systems, Algorithms, Data Structures, Operating Systems at the Bachelor Level of Computer Science/Information Technology/Computer Applications while the remaining 50 questions will be to test the ability of the candidate in logical reasoning based on pictures, geometrical figure, pattern of words, number sequence, logic decoding, Basic mathematics etc. For each right answer 3 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. Rank list will be prepared on the basis of the score in the Test.
